I bought a bargain hose for my power steering on my 68 Charger. Nothing but trouble, leaks at the flange. I tried correcting the flange but it didnt work. Where can I buy a good hose?

Call your local Auto Parts Store that has a machine shop. Another option is a Farm Implement store that make their own hoses (custom). And lastly, if you have a Fork Lift Repair/Service place near you see if they custom make the hydraulic hoses.

Not sure what you mean by "flange"?
They are typically inverted flare fittings?
Even a cheap hose should work, it just won't last as long.

Its leaking where it bolts to the gear box. I checked the flare and it was not smooth. I reflared the end, but it appears the metal is brittle.

Gates and AC Delco are $23 for your car at RockAuto

I got mine from Steer and Gear.

I looked all over for a correct one. EBay seller to.serge. He has all kinds of nos hoses. That is where I got mine from. Had the perfectly correct turns on it as per original. Hose and fittings were perfect. If you cant find your application in his items contact him. If you are still stuck pm me... I know I have the package from the one I bought here...somewhere.

Im reading that the early hose, up to 69, has a 5/16 flare. The 70 hose has a 1/4" flare. Mine is 1/4". maybe no good for a 68??

Different flare, different nut..... the two flares are not going to get mixed up, if you know what i mean. Maybe your steering box is a later model than '68???

I have this driver quality factory one if you still need it
