That looks fantastic!

I did my own body work and paint also. So long ago that it needs redone now.

It's no where near perfect, but I know exactly what the car is, and I can claim every flaw and mistake as my own.

Yeah, race cars rule!

I've probably painted a dozens cars and am never completely happy with the results. The one thing I've learned is those blemishes that your eye is so trained to look at eventually fade in memory, before long your eye will quit looking for them lol.

Mostly people will look at that car and ask you to paint theirs. The ones that find flaws are either professional custom paint and body men or (more likely) people who pay them 10k for a paintjob.
I'm betting you hear a lot more "that looks amazing" than "you should have ...."
My motto on my paint work is "it don't look too bad if you don't look too close".

I too was a first timer at the whole paint and body thing on a complete car. Think I did ok until I got it on a rack and see things I missed, but I went in expecting a few things here and there.
I think we, as hobbyist, are our own wort critics, as we see the flaws others often don't due to the intimacy we have with our vehicles.
Again great job!

I think I need more buffing on the car.
I see some areas that need work with different lighting situations.
Its really tough to see everything when you first finish.
Maybe in the spring I'll give it a once over .

Bob: Years ago, I was fortunate enough to have a "mentor" that convinced/coerced me into painting my car. It was worth all the time and effort that I spent. Every time you look at your car, you can feel a glow of pride, and have an "Erkel" thought: "Did I DO THAT?!?" LOL!!
 
Looks awesome! So where exactly are these flaws you are referring to so other's may learn from them?

I've tried to touch up our old regular cars a few times and have learned that paint/body is not my strong suit, to say the least. I am at the paint/body stage of my RoadRunner right now and am trying to decide if I want to take a stab at it myself (probably not a wise idea) due to lack of funds thanks to Covid paycuts and loss of bonu$e$.
