Do both wires come from the firewall plug in? I only have one wire that has not been hooked up forever, has a burnt off end. I've owned this car for 43 years and am working on getting it back on the road again. What color are the wires supposed to be and what holes do they come from. I'm not much of an electrician, by the way.

One of the many, many cool things about having a factory service manual (FSM) for these cars
is the wiring diagrams they contain - which include colors on the factory-installed wiring.
I highly recommend fetching a FSM, especially when doing what you're doing with the car.

That said, fortunately we have great sources for information online as well.
Here's your wiring diagram, generously posted by longtime online reference site www.mymopar.com:

I think they are two violet wires, that are tied in to the wiper motor connector. Don’t have my engine bay harness handy.

100% correct. I can confirm. Let me know if you want pics from my car. The orientation just needs to match the harness of the opposite side. The power actually comes from a dash switch and that sends the power outside the terminal down to the switch and returns back to the dash to connect to the tail light harness. Personally if i were you i would do the Nacho alternator charge cable mod, to take the load off the bulkhead connector so it never burns again. Also good idea to clean out all of them and pack it with di-electric grease to keep dirt and moisture out of the connections. Cheers
