During this mornings latest youtube upload from "Nicks Garage" we witness a "joyride" Nick takes in a customer's 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko tribute 427 four-speed. During the drive, Nick states the vehicle sounds like a big block. What does a big block sound like compared to a small block? I have no idea. Maybe my ear is not as trained as someone else's. Comments?

I love Nick and his videos, so this comment is meant in no manner to be taken as expression of disrespect.

sampel Hemi sound:

It's like HEMI.... if you know how to listen you can tell one from across the parking lot (not talking new school here)

It's like hearing a Harley V-Twin compared to a Honda. They have different lenth strokes, shorter and longer, that has a signature sound once you have heard them several times.

Just go to the track on Saturday and listen to the difference between each car racing. When you know what certain cars are running for engines it becomes apparent after awhile what you are hearing. There's definitely a unique sound to a Hemi !

Small blocks you feel with your feet, big block you feel in your balls when they rumble by..:moparsmiley:

Motors do all sound a bit different. My buddy told me many times he could always tell the sound of my car from across the pits. My 426W had big CR, big cam & Hooker race headers. It did have a different sound than any of the 440's & 383's, mine was more like the Hemi. More crackle.
