Found this Charger yesterday and want to but it. 68 numbers match, original owner, auto column shift, slant six, NO RUST!, mint interior, perfect dash with radio delete, original paint. Was probably the cheapest Charger on the lot. Total time capsule with dealership paperwork to boot. Has four speed pedals? and a pretty good scratch on the right fender. He's asking 25k I'm going to try for 20k. What do you guys think on value or what I should offer? Thanks

Worth the 25K all day if truly rust free and original paint.

Plan is not to alter anything. Just clean it up, drive it, have some fun. Then let it go to someone else.

And only 904 /6's made.

Nope, no manuals produced with the slant 6. Automatics only.

This one on ebay sold for $31,500. It's a bit of a different animal, but it was originally a slant 6 car:

If you have to pay $25K I'd just do it. Good luck (and let us know what happens!). I am a bit jealous of your opportunity so don't let it slip through your fingers. Cars in this condition and degree of originality don't come along every day. And '68 Chargers even less so.

Dang, what a find. I'd go get it done already... asking price is in reason if what you say is true.

Yep, that’s a tremendous deal even at $25k. The ‘68’s keep getting bought up by the larger restoration/show-room type companies and, they charge 3x the asking price. ‘68 is also the most desirable year (from a collectible/value standpoint) for the Charger.

your a fool if you dont buy it,stop posting and go get it.

Is it rare? Yes
Is it valuable because its rare with a /6? Not really.
Is it cool! Yes, very cool.

$20K is a good price based on condition.

When you sell it, there is a high probability that it will become a hemi clone or gen3 hemi restomod, which is unfortunate.

good price for a 68 especially
more if it really is rust-free

would I want it, as is probably not
or if I did I'd swap in a 440,
new torsion bars, k member, trans, exhaust, rear
probably up the value/doubled or trippled

rare doesn't mean value
good luck

Bring 25 grand with you,and put 20 grand on the fender, and keep adding a grand at a time, until he agrees to a number. Many people talk numbers, but seeing the pile of cash on the fender makes deals happen. After driving a slant six Charger, you will want a 440 in it in short order, but keep all the original parts from the car. I had a 71 Barracuda convertible slant six car,one of 163 built, and after driving it for a month,I put a 71 383 Magnum in it.

Back in 83'-84' I purchased a 68 Charger that had the leaning tower of power and 3 on the tree. Had never seen one before, didn't even know they existed. Joined the Mopar club here in town and there was another guy that had one with the 6 cylinder and 3 on the tree!

Thanks for all the input guys. I really do appreciate it. This **** only comes around once in a long while for sure. I always read about people finding great cars, bout time one came my way.
