Really? That's strange, I don't show much in there. Sorry.rt-man, inbox is full.
The origional Carter AVS that you indicate, #4640 SA for a 440 engine with A/C DID NOT HAVE A HOT AIR CHOKE, because Mopar used a divorced choke mounted on the manifold. BTW....the carb shown in your pixs is missing the bowl vent lever and cover, located on the throttle lever side .... and is missing the choke pulloff diaphragm and link assembly. The body casting looks to be from a Edelbrock or Carter AVS for a GM application....??? Just my observation of course....

What I'm curious about is that the base casting number is correct and has not been restamped. TheView attachment 1030562 SA would indicate a service replacement "but" the date code is E7 which does not coincide with the 69 model year. Also, the heated choke can be used on any AVS/AFB in lieu of original mechanical choke.
IMO...
The base may have been restamped. The origional Mopar Carter AVS for the indicated model year NEVER used a hot air choke coil (as I have an original)...as I noted, Mopar used a divorced choke coil mounted in the manifold thru an including 1973 model. The Carter Thermoquad was introduced in 1972 (?) On the 340 inch engine. The body casting shown was specific to the integral hot air choke coil assembly. In addition, the origional Mopar Carter AVS base was NOT drilled to accomodate both mounting configurations, AND only the origional Mopar manifold spacing. Likewise, Mopar AFB/AVS carbs from '65 - '72, with the exception of the REAR HEMI carb which were hot air operated, and in '71 which was manually operated, were divorced chokes....not hot air choke coil controlled. Just my opinion of course.
