I've made many pecan pies in my career. My favorite was adding some chocolate chips in with the mix.

Squash (pumpkin) pie, from the garden. Got lazy & didn't make the crust though.
Add some teeny-tiny hot peppers for some 'zing'.

A good pecan pie is a close second.
