Hello, new member here. I have 67 dodge 2dr post that I intercepted on its the way to the crusher. It's pretty rough, rusty and parted. All the 2dr post stuff is there.
I also have this 67 belvedere 4dr post that has floorboard/door forklift damage.
Is a 318 A/C car..
I would like to convert the Plymouth to a 2dr post budget drag car.
Anybody here done such a coversion? Any tips or advice on building this kinda project would be helpful? Here's a few pics.

I believe Hodge's Restorations did a 69 coronet 4 dr and made it into a 2 dr Superbee clone. Did a really nice job on it.

I have a 1965 cornet wagon that I had made into a 2 door. My body man said it wasn’t bad to do. Sorry no pictures of him doing it

Have coronet cut up. Removed all 2dr post parts. Bringing home Plymouth soon.

4 doors are cool. Sad you cut up the Coronet, I would have just built that.

I agree 4drs are cool, however the 4dr was picked up by a short forked forklift and has floor board damage, bent drive line and damaged drivers side doors.
I would just used the coronet, but it was too far gone rust wise. It had screwed in sheet metal patches that were rusted through again. Rusty roof gutter rails,1/4s,trunk lid, etc. Incomplete interior, a trailer axle mounted angle iron for rearend.

I know the 62-65 conversions are surprisingly straightforward. I'd done a 64 Dodge and know guys who've done 62-65 conversions. Also have seen a number of series on line converting them.

Going on an admittedly feeble memory, it seems 66-up were different enough to be more involved. I can't recall seeing photos of one being converted. It seems like the quarter panel lines are different between Dodge and Plymouth in 66 and 67. That said, for years I would have bet money the 55-7 Chevy's couldn't be converted, but now see guys doing them all the time. I'd guess if there's a will there's a way.

The quarters are different lines, but the same at door jambs. My plan is to use rear 4dr door skin as filler panel. The difficult part will be to mate rear door post frame to gutter rails. Having the 2dr post parts from a actual post car will make it easier than having to fabricate post door frames.

Had to do a few mods but was able to replicate as I took measurements of a friend's B body coupe that was close by.

Factory 2-door coupes had different rear glass in 1968-1970. Scalloped instead of convex, as 4-door used.

Correct Dave but in the absence of finding a roof from a doner car we went with the existing roof and it worked well.

A lot of good and hard work went into that, I imagine. I applaud you for that, and you have created a car that will have some people scratching their heads.
