You are welcome here anytime, and yes I would like a copy of that movie. That is one thing that I wasn't told about on it. Sort of more to its story. Thanks for the info.

I thought for sure we had talked about that. I am sorry if we didn't.

The pilot movie for the Viper TV show was shot just over the boarder in Canada. The local Mopar club was called on to provide some cars. The GTX had fresh paint and looked great !

The movie "Wish You Well" was filmed in Giles County Va. About 60 miles from us. The local region of the Antique Automobile Club had many members furnish vehicles for the movie. My Mom was an extra in a few of the scenes. The big '41 Dodge truck that was used in the crash scene at the start belonged to a family friend that just recently passed away. He was still using that truck actively to haul junk cars. It was interesting how the film crew staged the "accident" and filmed stuff backwards to make the crash sequence. The vehicles were not really hurt...

Many moons ago they filmed parts of the first RoboCop in my hometown of Monessen Pa.
They used the steel mill before it was demolished and sold for scrap.
Now it's Vegas and Lake Mead. Too many films to even think about.

Furious 7 shot all the mountain chase scenes on the Pikes Peak Highway. They weren't allowed to hurt any trees so they had to bring in their own prop trees.

They film Fear the Walking Dead in the greater Austin Area. I recognize some of the locations, others are so dressed up you'd never know. They just an episode at the old Buda elementary school.

All we got was Broke back mountain with cowboys bending over hay bails

This was filmed up in Pasadena/Deer Park area. It was being filmed when we moved here, I remember my Aunt talking about trying to be extras in some of the scenes.....

I'm near Houston, so I'm sure there's a lot I don't know about or have forgotten.

Most movies in Michigan are shot on the east side, Detroit area. A few here on the West side though, probably most notable Road to Perdition. "Chicago" scenes were shot in Grand Rapids and beach scenes in West Olive, both about 15 minutes from me in opposite directions.

Had a closer one though called Touchback. It was shot directly across the road from house at our school buildings and football field, roughly couple hundred yards away. Several "field" shots were just outside of my small town and a "mistake" is the crops in film are not what they claimed to be. The movie starred Brian Presley, Melanie Lynskey (Rose from 2 1/2 Men), Kurt Russell and Barry Sanders. Since my wife is school superintendent admin, she got two of our kids in the "extras" scenes. Kids got to briefly meet Presley, but Russell and Sanders did not talk with extras and stayed on air conditioned buses. Melanie spent several hours in the "extra" corral and areas so they talked with her several times. She was extremely nice they said.

Public Enemies with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale was largely filmed in Wisconsin in 2008. We went camping at a state park on Mother's Day weekend that year. When we got to the park we found that half of the campground area was closed because they were using it for the movie. They did most of the filming after dark, and all night long we heard gunfire from the the scenes they were shooting. We got to see some of the cars and scenes in and around the park in the daylight when they weren't filming. One day we saw Christian Bale and other actors loading up in a Model A being towed on a trailer with cameras rigged all over it. The outdoor scenes from Manitowish Waters were actually shot at the park we camped at - which is a good 5 hours south of the real Manitowish Waters. By the way, the Little Bohemia Resort at Manitowish Waters, where the real John Dillinger had a shootout, was used for some filming, too. That place has plexiglass over the widows that were shot up in the real life Dillinger shootout, so you can see the bullet holes while you dine.

It was an interesting experience to see how a big time movie is made.

How about one from where I used to live?

In 1990 for one year I worked at Millbrook Private School, in Millbrook NY where the gym scenes for this movie was filmed. A bit of movie magic, where he opens a door in the gym to go down to the basement, was a closet in real life. I think the basement part of the scene was filmed in NYC.

I drove past the school about 5 yrs ago, and the (outside of) the gym looked totally different so I'm not sure if it was remodeled or tore down and rebuilt.

The Metro Mall in Phoenix, recently out of business where Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure was filmed.

Use to live in Yakima, WA. Back in the day they filmed To Hell and Back starring Audy Murphy. Filmed west of town and at the Yakima Training Center.
