On Monday I replaced the treads on the front steps at church. They were pretty much junk. Beneath wasn't much better. I spent longer than anticipated but it came out nicely.

Nothing I hate worse than doing someone else's job! Bell's burial supervisor promised me this 650' of phone line would be buried "the Wednesday after the long weekend". Guess I should have asked which, but didn't think I needed to considering that was the Thursday before the Canada Day long weekend! This 650' of lightning attractant has been lying on the ground for a week short of 5 months and cost us an alarm system from Lightning pulses during a storm 2 months ago. Bell won't pay for that either.... why am I not surprised. Couldn't plow snow with it lying there, so took care of it myself with a makeshift burial tool...

LOL, trying to find out from the Bell installer, that ran me the line, whom I can bill off my Corp # for my full day and equipment to bury it.
Working on a donation. Last week I donated 27 guitars to the Aeolian Hall, a music venue in my community with a free children's music program for disadvantaged kids. This week I am adding another ten or so guitars with a bunch of swag - gig bags, guitar hangers, guitar stands, 50 sets of strings, a Vox amplifier, a Gretsch banjo, a bunch of violin stuff and more. Next week another 10 or so guitars. That will get me down to the last half dozen which I plan to keep.
I'm even donating my 1969 Gibson SG which I have owned since 1974.

Here's a photo from today's newspaper in my community. They did a nice article about the guitar donations. I hope it encourages others to make some donations as well. Leaving shortly with the second load of guitars.
That's cool. You must really be into music to have so many guitars! My son loves playing, and he has maybe 6-8 at a time, but gets rid of old ones to fund new purchases.

Just got back from a 14 hour round trip to pick up a used hay cutter and a grain buggy I’m going to use to haul and feed cows. A good deal is a good deal, regardless of distance. Two stops in two different towns way north of me. Supposed to have been a third stop for another piece of equipment, but the guy text and said he tested positive for COVID and wasn’t up to loading it up. He couldn’t find anyone to help, but 2 outta 3 ain’t bad. I got 13.6 mpg going up there at 75. I got 5.8 on the way home. That buggy created some serious drag.

And fill tree stump holes with rocks.
The fire completely ate up the old ties & where a fir tree was is just a hole about 26-8" diameter & 6' (feet!) deep. There are holes all over the place, on a grade, that need caving in/filling before the rains come. IF it ever does.
Back hurts, will be worse tomorrow...

Yes, I know they are only objects and they can be replaced, but a car owned since high school is (was) likely pretty special. You can't even see the remains of it in the last picture!

We rebuilt the original 318 for his, this is going in the daughter's 72 Satellite. I was already steering towards EFI and an overdrive so when this was offered to me for $500... no brainer. I drove it home, seemed to have some sensor and exhaust issues but otherwise sounds really healthy. It will get stripped down, cleaned, resealed and freshened up.

I wondered, thought you had redone the original engine for Dad's truck, but didn't know about your girl's Satellite project. You continue to amaze me with the quality and quantity of work you do on your stuff. Kudo's to you!

Yes the Satty is next up, hope to start a build thread shortly. Very solid car, hoping for my first resto where rust repair is almost non existent for once, dad's truck burned me out on rust!
