I'm a defector ! But 2 out of 3 B's ain't bad....

Looks great !
I've always been a 340 fan.
Color fits the car, home run man !!

Nice score. Love the Darts myself. We have a '68 GTS 383 'vert and '70 Swinger with a stroker small block. I got started with the A-Bodies ('70 Duster 340) a little over four decades ago so I guess that I "defected" in the other direction... :D

Can someone confirm that I'm correct in my thinking that they have the rocker covers swapped side for side to be correct for '69. Breather should be on the drivers side.. no??? I'm also aware the breather cover is incorrect with a filler cap, believe that came in in '71..

Definitely they are on the wrong side. Here is a picture of my original 68 340. I believe the 69 is the same except for the engine colour.

Yup that looks more like my '68 318. I actually believe they are the incorrect covers for '69, they look more like the ones on the daughters '73 engine we put in her '72 Duster. The oil filler caps in in the correct place for all years but the PCV and breather are reversed. I think they also have the later spark plug wire retainers. My '68 the wires go more over the valve covers with the clips on the valve covers where the '73 the wires more ran around the back of the heads. That is why I also asked about the water pump... the bypass hose look like the post '69 1" vs the pre '70 7/8" and the outlet to the drivers side.

WOW.. THANK GOD.. I made it 26 hours without KD catching that I typed Suretrac instead of Suregrip !!
I caught it, but, he doesn't need any help...LOL.

At least that list is correct. Red for '68. Turq for '69
I had both year engines including a 71, mine were as stated. I envy you!! You deserve it, work hard, play hard!! Mine were red and green, that combination you have is to die for, again perfect!!

I’ve always liked 1968/69 Darts. The first muscle Mopar I ever rode in was a friend’s 69 Dart, with a 340, back in high school. The first Mopar I owned was a 69 Dart GT with a 273, when I was a senior in high school.

My dream A-Body is the 68 Super Stock Hemi Dart. I’ve never owned a Hemi car, but if by some means I could, I’d go for one of those real Super Stock Darts. A Dick Landy Dart would do nicely.

Gotta buy some more cars, insurance gets cheaper and cheaper with each one!

Only $208 Canuck bucks / year insured for agreed value. Only had to shell out $95 to cover until policy renewal in mid May!

I had a 68 Dart with the slant 6 in High School, couldn’t kill that thing! Always loved that body style, this is a great example and i have to admit im partial to that color! Very nice!

Good for you!! My coronet is half for a year what I pay six months for my Durango. When I had two homes, 4 cars, two boats, two wave runners and a boat dock, it got so cheap it was almost free!!... LOL. :poke: My insurance man loved me, like most of us with a lot of stuff. The best insurance you can get for that old Dart would be for me to keep it and promise to protect it with my life. LOL. But NOOOOO, it's all about you!!

Well two miserable days in a row of highways not being suitable for a cross country and stuck here plowing wet mashed potato snow, but tomorrow is finally road trip time. I'm not waiting any longer! Ready to go at first light...
