Here's my dilemma. I'm building a Dodge rat rod. I stripped the body off of a 1977 Ramcharger and will be putting a 1917 Dodge 4 door open tourer body on. Total Mad Max style. I just want a simple wire set up to just start it. The engine turns over by hand and I'm having the starter rebuilt. After the starter I'll get the alternator rebuilt as well.
I appreciate any help. thanks.

go with pain less wiring they have many different set ups for a little or the hole car

We need to know what ignition you are using.... points, MP electronic, etc. I assume you are using a Mopar starter relay and a push button to start?

A quick Google search on "race car wiring" will get you a lot of info.

No, I'm not ready for a wiring harness yet. I just want to do a simple engine start. It's a 1977 318 auto with stock electronic ignition. This is what I have to work with right now. I just want to start the engine is all.

I did exactly that on my '74 SE 400. Got rid of the module on the fire wall by mounting the GM HEI directly on the OEM distributor. I'm using a low impedance E-Core coil and finally have a HOT spark at the sparkplugs.
