1969 Dodge Dart Swinger... she's Home !

Well at least she wasn't home sick.. didn't wet the bed last night. Not a drop. Man this thing is a mess underneath. "Restored" isn't just body work and shiny paint job folks! Bonus of the day, I was sold this car... and part of the reason I bought it... as a non numbers, no fender tag, no broadcast sheet vehicle and what do I find today, the engine is it's original heart! I'd better not find a broadcast sheet under the back seat or it's gonna be a conundrum, as I had bought this as a "blank slate" to do what I want with.

You never said how much you paid and I'm sure it wasn't 40 thousand for a fully restored car. Knowing you, you bought it right and are now going to play with it, good for you!! Like your other cars, this one will soon be right next to perfect also, again, good for you!! Play on!!

Paid 30% less than any other road worthy Dart listed for sale in Canada, safetied/plated and ready to go...and I'll leave it at that. Bought based on seeing it a month or so ago in person when it was in for some work and at the time just sitting on it's tires in the shop. Other than that I rolled the dice and bought it 10 minutes after it was listed for sale so I didn't miss another one, knowing full well no matter how clean a car I'd be tearing it apart anyhow! LOL Off to the shop now to wipe the front end down and see if it actually needs any parts or just a clean up, I already have a full PST Super kit and misc in my shopping cart from last nights web browsing in case I need it! The rear axle assembly, springs and all will be hitting the shop floor soon!

You are doing things right, as always Wayne. That girl sure does need a bunch of attention underneath, doesn't it? Good news is that the most expensive and time consuming part is done (body and paint). Everything else is just unbolt, replace or restore - much more enjoyable than metalwork imo. Glad to see you are keeping this thread going on FBBO. About the only time I go on the A body site is to sell stuff. I like the camaraderie around here much better.

She’s lovely. 98% sure I have a new nos ammeter and temp gauge if you need them Wayne. Please keep the thread going here.

Cluster is all working, temp / fuel / ammeter / oil idiot light. Dual extras below the dash are coolant temp and oil pressure.. that runs nicely at 60psi !

I wouldn't mind a project like that, a body that's done, Wayne fixing the mechanical end of it and then me buy it when he's done.

5 hours on her today, just about ready to drop front and rear assemblies...

..and lookie what I found under the OE axle stop bumpers! T5.... possibly T3, but I think it's 5..

My brother had a 67 dart, 273 hp, 4 speed, 8 /34 , T3, white vinyl top, white bucket seats , console car that he bought new. It looked different than that. That's still darker than T3. T3 next to T5 Looks like It's been sanded down, dirty, duller, hell, It's just not as good looking as T5. When I saw my brothers T3 next to that friends 69 T5, I was sold on T5. That's T5 under there!!

I wouldn't mind a project like that, a body that's done, but needs mechanical work only.
Yep. By necessity, that's the only way I could afford what I did with Fred (can't do bodywork).

I got my pen out, but it's getting cheaper by the minute! You didn't plan on mailing it to me one piece at a time did you!! LOL ..... Just asking!
