I've been digging into my new (to me - got it 6 days ago) 70 Charger 500 survivor. Turns out, the driver side rear footwell...didn't survive so well.

Today, I pulled the seats, console, and all the carpeting. Passenger side is rock solid. Driver front is 90% solid, with a couple pinholes starting in the high beam switch area. And, the driver rear footwell is done. Far enough forward that I need to get both the rear panel, and the front panel - the rearmost 5" or so of the front panel is bad. That, and the holes by the switch...I might as well get the front panel too.

I don't want to change too much. This car is straight, and other than this section of floor...solid. The doors click shut like they did in 1970 - it's that straight, and I don't want to lose that.

What vendor is recommended for good quality floors? Anyone have any preferences, or quality horror stories?

AMD is the best panels out there. Only cut out what’s bad and just replace that. Don’t start cutting on your car unless you can finish the job: time, materials, equipment, and skills.

Oh, I know my limits. I can cut...and measure...and wrench on stuff...but never did learn how to weld, and my bodywork skills are marginal at best.

I have a buddy who does restoration work - these will be professionally installed. Just want to make sure the right materials are being used on my baby :)

AMD all the way.

I am in the middle of installing one of AMDs full floor pans right now in my 70 Road Runner convertible. They are heavier gauge metal than the original floor pan was. I have done three of them, and the fitment was excellent.

Another vote for AMD, its all I ever buy now. I have installed many AMD panels and they fit like a glove. If you need to replace more than 50% of the floor I would just go with the full panel.

All I *have* to replace the rear floor panel, in front of the back seat (back seat footwell, driver side). The rear couple inches of the front panel are also damaged, but I just talked to my body shop manager (I work at a Mopar dealer) and he said they can fab a repair for the front panel. I'm going to replace as little as required - the car is so straight, I don't want to monkey with it any more than necessary. I may order both panels to be safe - if I can get a front one, nobody shows it in stock at the moment.

AMD! I ordered mine through a local distributor. Price was lower than AMD’s retail on their website and saved the shipping if a waited about 2 weeks.

Yeah, AMD direct was $$$$ for freight. Summit was exceedingly cheaper, AND they had the front left in stock (AMD shows out of stock, no ETA). They're on the way, I should have them in a week or so, and get it all to my buddy at the body shop.
