I recently bought an original matching set of date coded six pack carbs. They looked rough in the pics before I bought, (buyer beware, I know) but the seller neglected to say that all three carbs were locked SOLID. The center carb both the upper choke and lower butterfly are solid. I have hosed them down with penetrating fluid for a couple days. I have been spraying them multiple times a day and leaving them in a plastic bag so that the fluid doesnt evap. I just tried. They are still frozen. Forcing will surely damage them. I was able to get the base of one off, I will be soaking it in evapo rust. The others, the screws are still frozen.
Any advice?

Maybe try heat cycling them in the oven a few times (wifes permission necessary of course). Or soak them in atf fluid for several days.

I would throw them whole in a bucket of used tranny fluid if you have any laying around.... its free and has been known to work miracles

One thing your dealing with is the aluminum to steel oxidation.
This is going to sound nuts but if the evapo rust does not work. Soak them in coca cola.

Or, if you want to avoid sticky sugar from the coke, just use phosphoric acid which is the ingredient in colas that work.

If you have access to an ultrasonic parts cleaner, you might give that a try after the long soak. The vibrations will help loosen things up.

Its the aluminum to steel..... we use it to unstick pistons.... it will work in the ring lands and the bores to unfreeze stuck motors

I rebuild lots of carbs and I just submerge the carb in a bucket with gasoline--It works great--just leave it covered in pump gas 4 a few days--Ive salvaged many carbs this way--just be patient and occasionally work the throttle blades loose--DONT force them--just a little at a time--I just did a pair of 4-bbls from a 426 Hemi--then after they were free-I rebuilt them and they work like new--
