on my 8 3/4 witch gasket goes between the tube and backing plate.i have a foam 1 and a steel 1 .thanks gang.

Steel is against the housing. Foam on axle.

ok just open up the steel gasket there is a small raised area around the gasket witch way does it go.

Dr. Diff said the raised portion goes inward.

Raised area goes inward. Dr.Diff told me. I emailed him, and that's what he said.
