Buying a new car

you cant go wrong with a Toyota  but are more expensive then Kia

My folks have an 04 Sienna they bought new in Central Florida. 57k miles. Drives like a Cadillac. Good torquey power. No personality but does everything.

I'd consider a late model T&C/Caravan with the 300HP v6.

Roomy as hell and they haul ***.

...and get almost 30 MPG.

Pretty sure it can be made to tow a reasonable trailer.

Also pretty darn comfortable even for me at 6'3".

I’m not a foreign car fan at all, but the new Chrysler minivans rock it out... and pretty reliable.

Caravan or Town & Country, have been using them as work vehicles for years. Would not ever buy an import, for those that do, if you like them so much, please relocate to where the originated.. Please!! I usually look for anything just over 100, but under 200 k, buy them from 1500.00 to 3000.00, and drive the snot out of them. Inexpensive to repair, and somewhat disposable, and usually retire them when they hit 350,000 k. Dollar for Dollar, can't be beat..

Since the topic is touching on vans, I just bought a 2007 Toyota Sienna AWD for my winter/salt duty. The original owner was here from Utah for Thanksgiving, and hit a deer. Not bad, but he couldn't drive it home without lights on one side. I paid $500 for it and bought an '08 wrecked in the back for $1,000. Will make one of the two.
I had a Camry and it was a very good car. I do take care of my cars and drive for fuel mileage, so cars last for me.
Is a Sienna an option for Bb70? I've yet to drive mine as a friend drove it home for me, so I don't know how it drives. It is a 7 passenger, more than enough room for my needs.

I'll look into this van

I'm open to just about anything at this point I'm seeing $20000 doesn't buy much anymore unless it's very well used

I would put the "square" Mopar mini-van up against a toyota or nissan mini-van any day.

The Chrysler might lose on looks, but that's about it.

A friend of my Dad's runs Mopar vans. He is on a Blood route, collecting and delivering eight hours a day, 5 days per week. He puts a ton of miles on the T&C's he buys. He buys them cheap as they have well over 200,000 miles on them. When something major fails, he walks away and buys another. I was impressed with what I had witnessed and was watching for one of those when the van I bought came along.

I've owned both a Chrysler Town & Country (2005) and a Toyota Sienna (2013 - currently own). I'm a Mopar guy, but the Toyota has been trouble-free for 60K miles so far whereas the T&C had several issues over the 60K miles I owned it - radiator replace, cat. convertor replace, plate that connects engine to trans developed crack and needed replaced, to name a few.
So, after all that - I recommend the Sienna.

Looks like I'm getting a 2017 Mazda cx-9

Do you have a CarFax for it? Better than nothing... doesn't hurt to check. Nowadays, stealerships will provide one for free.

Why dont you look at a used Jeep Grand Cherokee? V8 or 6, has the frame to support some towing.
Personally I like the looks of the Pacifica, tried to get my wife to look at one a few yrs ago before we bought the Pilot but she said it looked too much like a mini van. We had a T&C which was great for kids and good milage.

The new chrysler pacifica has a 9 speed auto in it and I'm getting alot of bad reviews on that trans the jeeps look good but I'm noticing a trend there's a ton for sale! I'm assuming no one wants them.

They have the car fax for the Mazda and it's been here in fl it's whole life

with a $20,000 budget
you could get a really nice rig out here,
I'm pretty sure they are out there too, maybe more rust issue too

4dr crew cab or even a Dakota, Durango, Cherokee etc.
4wd or 2wd/rwd or even all w/d, even vans/minivans
plenty of domestic Pick ups, 3 door club or 4dr crew cab
plenty of even big SUVs in that range

even some that don't have mega miles or even over 100k
maybe 10 years or older, still great drivers, still a lot of life left

for either tow &/or family, DD use
may not be the best on gas mileage, being an old rig

hell you could buy 2 of some, really nice ones in that price range

& not even worn out POS, foreign (co. owned) **** either

I agree fully! I've looked at so many cars that I would be happy to drive for $10k but my wife insist on a 2015 and newer and 50k and less miles and she wants air bags everywhere!

The other thing to consider I'd that today's cars 70 or 100k is really low mileage and most will get you to 300k with good maintenance. And by the way that's probably the one thing you want to have from CarFax is a consistent and regular service history.
I bought my daughter last Christmas her first car, an 08 Kia Optima..it has 150k on the clock but there was a novel of service history. Thing runs like its brand new so far.
