Drag Link rubbing engine oil pan?

It's probably incorrect. It can either be a rear sump, a center sump or a front sump, depending on the application. Wrong pan will cause problems.

That idler arm looks incorrect. It's hard to see the pitman arm from the pictures, but I would research the idler arm. I know that on my 63 Polara, the clearance is minimal, but it doesn't come close to rubbing.

Thanks. Going to grab some measurements and compare at parts stores

Just my thoughts, but Mopars didn't come with chrome pans. If you have a stock pan to compare measurements, you may find a problem there. All aftermarket pans are not created equal. Some get extra capacity in different ways.

I'm not up on the '68 through '70 B body oil pan but that one has the deep back end that was problematic with using the 440 in the '62. Centerlink was just starting to make contact after the new motor mounts settled. Found a 971 pan that has plenty of clearance. That pan is hard to find. The Moroso one shows up now and then. Some deep sump racing pans are an alternative also. Many threads on here about this.

Solid advice also. Showing some rust anyway

So I just replaced oil pan and clearance good. Wrong aftermarket

Drag link on my 68 GTX is rubbing oil pan...
New Idler arm looks shorter than Pitman
Is there a drag link with more clearance ?
Maybe oversized oil pan?
Just acquired this car
Anybody ran into this?
I had the same problem on my 70 Charger with a 440. I found out that someone had previously installed the wrong oil pan. I don't recall for sure, but I think I purchased and installed the "402" oil pan and that fixed the problem; no more clearance issues.
