I was thinking there'd been a theft and the title was misspelled...
I almost changed the title but I'm practicing minimalism.
People need to know the difference an L makes.

Having a mother and grandmother that came from Germany, another holiday favorite for us kids growing up was Mohnkuchen.

To my shame I have to admit that I don`t like both. And we have tons of it everywhere these days. Saying that as a German........:)

We have the special luck of having “the Dutch Epicure Shop” in the next town. Just give a call and they will bake one for you. Stollen is always good, fresh stollen is better.

they are available everywhere in germany.
But I don't like them either.

Sometimes it is funny that you don't like what is easily available around yourself but desire stuff which is common on the other side of the world.

I always have to pay up for buying US Sodas (like Big Red, Big Blue, Inco Kola etc)

Love them....especially the small individual ones as you get more crust....the best part...along with the marzipan. Id never seen stollen before the German supermarket chain "Lidl" started opening stores in the UK!!

My mother and aunt would take over the kitchen table and spend the day making the real home made German stollen. It was a special day and everyone would come and go, watch for awhile, as they made it, it was a big deal when I was young. That took me back to a place more than a few years ago, thanks for sharing!!
