I'm trying to decide what to do with my 71 Charger's wheels and tires. I need new tires and currently have 14x6 Rallye wheels all around. I'd prefer not to go narrower than a 245 tire in the rear, which is too wide for my current 6" wheels.

I'm considering the combination of 15x7 with 255/60/15 on the rear, with 14x6 or 14x5.5 with 215/70/14 on the front. The 215/70/14 is about 1.2 to 1.25 inch smaller outside diameter than the 255/60/15. Another possiblity is 215/70/14 paired with 245/60/15 on the rear. Only .75 inch difference in diameter between those. With the 215 having a 150.5mm sidewall compared to the 245 having a 147mm sidewall. 255 side wall is 153mm.

I'm not sure if I'll like the look of this kind of combination, so it would be nice to see some B-Body photos showing 14 & 15 inch Rallye wheel combinations. Another reason for considering this combination is the difficulty in obtaining a set of four matching (as in all 70/71 or all 72/73 vintage) 15x7 Rallye wheels. It is easier to find just a pair of either of those Rallye types.

I have 14x5.5 and 215 70 in the front and 15x6.5 and 255 60 in the back.

73 Satellite- not quite as much as exposed wheel area as you but close.

Looks like it should have come that way from the factory.

I know the 255 is a size too wide for the 6.5" wheel but it looks fine and does not wear unevenly No issues mounting either.

I'll have to dig for a pic with a good angle.

I'd like to see a photo of your car if you could post one. The 14x6 Rallye wheels currently on my car were originally on a 1973 B-Body.

Not the best but it's all I can find.

I'll try to get one from a good angle for the tires.

I know I know, not a B body. Both mine run 14/15" combination. The Swinger has 205/70-14 and 255/60-15's

I found this picture on the net... look like 14 in front, and 15 in back.
