So I found some available R/T heads, I have the lowly 318 and haven't done work on it in years, but the top is apart and I'm think of the swap. I know what I need parts wise, just wondering of the end result. In the future(after home remodeling) looking at a 268xe,625 carb, headers, stock converter and 3.23s. Thats just to get me driving again.
Would they be worth the hassle?
Also I thought I saw LA manifolds can be drilled for magnum heads?

I think there is a intake out there with the dual pattern.

LA exhaust manifolds have the same bolt pattern.

The only aftermarket intake being made new right now that covers both LA & Magnums is the Chink intake. Speed Master carries it. Very inexpensive and with a good reason. The Edelbrock “Magnum” RPM-AG is the best.

I don’t know your cams duration @050 or the tire size to say that the cam would work well or not.

O/P probably knows but it might be good to mention lifters/pushrods & rocker arms are all different...

I double checked numbers, cams too big.
Yep, lifters and pushrods are oil through.
Yeah, china vs edelbrock is like cutting off your foot or cutting off your hand, ugh.

I would look for a good 5.9 and consider putting the whole thing in computer fuel injection etc...
You can put a Hughes intake on it and possibly change the factory cam.
If you really want a carburator then it can be done as well but then you have to change the cam if you want a mechanical fuel pump
Either way Hughes engines has the stuff.

Keep an eye on your compression too...the magnum heads had smaller chambers.
