What determines lift wheel size or does it not matter. .750, .810, .812". Looking at the BAM and the Crower solid lifters.

Usually the bigger wheel has a larger axle and supports use of a bushing. Did you decide on lifters yet? That $1100+ price tag is hard to justify. I think my last set of Isky Redzone EX-Max lifters was listed at $1400+ which stings when you just bought a $500 cam!

I know this is a silly question but is there any reason you won't spray it? 900hp is a 150 shot away and it will be fine if the top ring gap is .020-022. You could do that for the price of a set of good lifters. That said 10 bottle fills will run about $1000 so that is like maybe 20ish passes. Or 10 banzai runs on I-75 : D if you spray until the motor bogs (bottle is empty).

Redzones are in the $1000 range. The BAM lifter with the .750 wheel is $620 and the bigger wheel .815 is $750. The Crowers are $835. Don't want to spray it, but i do have .032" on top ring.

What determines lift wheel size

The manufacturer !! Chevy's have a smaller lifter bore and therefore require a smaller wheel. It's not uncommon for the manufacturer to cheap out and use the small wheel in all their lifters.

When I bought bushed Red Zones they were about $1100. They've been in the motor for 499 passes. Lash doesn't move. 310#/805# spring pressure.

Some that have had the Redzone lifters have reported that the lifter bodies measure all over the map and not one uniform size. May not be a mechanical issue, but sounds like QC problem. Anyone know if the BAM lifter is available in bushed and pin oiling, PR oiling for BBM?

I agree the sizing varied maybe +/- .0005. Don’t remember exactly. It’s never bothered a thing that I can tell. I’ve learned over the years as long as clearances aren’t to tight it doesn’t seem to effect anything.

The Bam product is a quality price on my opinion. Switched from the Morel line to Bam a couple years ago on builds and very happy. The sizing is very uniform and in line with the Morel on size, both slightly larger body size than Isky. The rebuild time is very fast compared to Morel or Isky. Pressure fed axle in needle, bronze bushing, and a DLC coated axle steel wheel version.

Quality piece I meant. Their pricing compared to the others is a plus, but I wouldn't base your purchase off the product cost alone.

Still looking, but at this point looks like the BAM's it will be. Thanks

WOW ... those BAM lifters virtually identical to my Crane 66550's !!

No experience using Bam lifters but will add this. I emailed them about questions on a Friday night about 9 pm and got a reply back about an 1 hr later

I’m about to order a set of BAM solid rollers for a high effort SBF drag race engine.
