Don't know about the show as anything more than an info dump and entertainment.
What most people fail to realize about ancient times & peoples is something that SHOULD be obvious.
There would have been more than one sort of society, group, clan, or gang and they all would surely have advanced on different rates and by different measures. why? Because in those times there did not exist, at least so far as we know, any way to communicate between land masses or between far flung locations by different peoples.
Look at todays world..
Are there not aborigine's, pre bronze age pigmies and tribes here now? Right alongside, time wise, the most technologically advanced peoples?
The answer is yes. If that is so now, then clearly it would have been so then, due to the lack of connectedness.
Hence the saying, " Anything sufficiently new is generally indistinguishable from magic" to anyone on the opposite end of the scale.
Today, for example, there's a article about 115,000 year old human footprints found in Saudi Arabia. That would put them in the preceding Ice Age just before it hit.
Since it's clear there were people who hunted and gathered in that time, would it not also be possible that there were other peoples then who were more advanced?
Some will argue that, " Well. we have found NO evidence of that, so no."
Ahhh...but we have.
There are many examples of items that have turned up that are out of "time & place" so to speak.
We have no clue how they turned up in the areas where they were found. Areas that stratigraphically place them as from an era when there were not supposed to BE advanced peoples.
Yet, there the items are. Unequivocal proof otherwise.
Keeping such items in mind, the notion of different levels of advancement between diversely located peoples takes on new meaning.
The Pyramids at Giza are such items as well.
Why?
Because there is no way to date them conclusively. There would need to be other matter, other than solid rock, to use as a dating milestone. Like a hunk of plant matter in-between rocks ,under rocks etc. In a place where the elements haven't damaged it. Such matter would be thought to exist at the same time as the rocks and so when dated they also date the rocks.
There is no such matter at the pyramids. At all.
So, no, they really do not know the age of them, or of the Sphinx. For all we know they are millions of years old. Erected by civilizations that have been wiped from the Earth by cataclysms. Or simply the passing of great swaths of time.
There are many unexplained things out there. We have clues. Some anyway. But there are things which we can only wonder about and naturally assign their existence to the Gods. aliens etc. because they're impossible for MAN to have made them.
Or so we think....wrongly IMHO.
We, as a species are not yet sufficiently advanced that we would be of interest to spacefaring beings. That doesn't mean that there have never BEEN peoples here, who were...
