I have a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner (383 4-speed , A4 Metallic Silver , Air grabber car ) it is currently in the shop. Metal , body work and paint . 3 inch wider than factory inner wheel well housings have been installed .( Auto Metal Direct ) I want to fit the widest tire possible in the back . Has anyone on this forum installed these and if so what is the widest rim size ( 15’s) that I can put on the car . Can you also tell me the offset and backspacing please . I have looked it up but i am still not certain about figuring it out . I am sure 15x10’s would work for the back but again I am not sure . Any help is appreciated . Thank you

1970 Super Bee no tub stock I have 15 by 10 inch rims with 4 1/2 bs with 275 tire.

We would have to have more info (moved springs? rearend width, brakes, etc.) to even make an educated guess, and thats what it would be, a guess. We have a decent handle on what fits in stock conditions, but your looking for a max fit in a modified condition.
You will have to do your own measurements. I would use an existing wheel and tire, and then where and how much more room you have.

welcome to FBBO

did you do a spring relocation inward too ?
did you narrow the rear end axle housing too ?

you can easily fit a 295/50/15 on a 10" wide wheel
or bigger in a stock wheel well, if you have the proper backspacing
you can probably, fit a 12" wide wheel (easily) & a 345/55/15
or possibly Maybe ? even 390/50/15 tire & wheel combo
especially if the springs have been moved inward, with the inner tubs mods
but need to measure for your specific application

if the rear axle housing is narrowed,
then possibly custom application
need to measure from the most outside part of the drum/disc
whatever applies to your car, back to the frame or spring
whichever is closer inside the wheel well
or the frame or the inner tubs, whatever is closest to rub

& to the upper outside portion of the inner wheel tubs

be careful the outside portion on the wheel tub
has a drastic bump/flat portion up toward the top,
so it will depend on how low the car sits
or how high up in the suspension travels
or it can rub on the inside outer/iupper portion of the wheel tubs

good luck

Yeah, Steve, i didntmean to rain on your parade, or be difficult or unhelpful, but i wouldnt trust what someone on a forum says will fit without doing my own measurements. For instance, "ive got a 10.5" slick under my 62 without tubbing or springs moved." That is true. But i haven't mentioned how tight it is (tight!), what the bs is, or the fact that the rear clearly isn't original, i dont know exactly what it is out of, whether it is stock width or not, or that i made custom wheel spacers that are different on each side, due to production variations.
Now you see why i encourage YOU to measure.
Edit: all you have to do to say thanks here is hit the little thumbs up icon, bottom right, the others are like, agree, and disagree. Be careful with the red x, LOL.

I have a 68 roadrunner l put 9 x15 with a 4.5 backspace I have 28x12.50x15 micky Thompson sportsman I did no mods no air shocks with the stock leafs and can still fit my fingers between the tire and outer panel without rolling the lip up
The right tire did rub the front inside wheelhouse when going over bumps so I put an 1/8 inch spacer on the right wheel and haven’t had them touch since
The tires are only about a 1/4 inch away from the leafs though
I spent a lot of time under the car with a straight edge and measuring off the bare rims
Hope this helps

Welcome to the site....and I got a 12.5W slick (13 1/4 wide tread) into a 68 road runner with the tubs widened to the rails and springs moved in.
