4 speed manual with Hurst shifter, Craigslist

Believe its gotta be a 65 or older with the flange style coupler on the end.....66 would be the standard yoke I think. Looks like its been laying in a corner for 25 years. My spare trans has new synchros too....they were installed in 1968 well atleast they were new then. Ha!

this seller is out of his mind asking money like that.
has some good parts but the trans is worthless unless you have a 65 or earlier.
plus,i just posted a wanted ad for a 4 speed and got 2 replies within 30 mins for 2 trans-yes 2 of them for 225,and 1 trans,100 bucks.
all are bare,no bellhousings.
that was just in 1 group.

Have no idea, may be a rarity someone has to have. Seems complete including flywheel etc. Price may be high but it doesn't seem flagrantly out of line. Time will tell if he sells it or not. Just like many of our cars there are some that hold little value but you see these advertisements for 4 door, clapped out, rusty hulks missing their drivetrains for some outrageous advertised price. Many folks think if it is from a certain era it is gold.

i had to laugh, because you are right.
im selling a complete 4 door coronet myself, for right around what he wants for a transmission.
bitd, the whole car would have sold for 5-800.

How much is he asking? Can’t get to the ad.

There are guys restoring the older cars too and probably less of that style trans and parts readily available

Post/ad is gone. He either sold it or pulled the advertisement. IIRC he wanted $2k for the complete setup. I may have a faulty memory though.
