In the early months of 2014, @eldubb440 took my car to do all the bodywork and paint. I said I wanted NO RUST left and I didn't want it to show up in a few years either. He finished it in December of 2014 and returned the shell to me to complete.

Well, with bodywork, I feel you don't often see the quality of the work until years later. Quality work will still look good, while shoddy work will be bubbling, cracking, rusting, etc. and not looking good. Well, I am pleased to report that my 70 Road Runner still has NO RUST anywhere and still looks awesome. Yes, she has some stone chips from a cross country trip and regular driving, but the body STILL looks great! I am very happy eldubb440/ Mark did the work on my car. He is a great guy and a friend now too!

Thanks Mark and Happy New Year!

Hawk

In other words, he did what he said he would do? I take nothing away from him and the work looks awesome but its unfortunately become somewhat of a sad fact that quality work is almost rare and we are all surprised by when we see it when in fact that is the way it is supposed to be and we should be shocked when we don't see it.

Great car.

wow Hawk! this is a first for me.... Thank You! ......... I'm happy I was able to come through, you had plans and deadlines; and there was no way I was gonna let you down...... you know I worry, and am always wondering how things are holding up........ glad to hear all is well..... It's been 6 years, I'm sure she could use a little freshen up buff job/detail by now (maybe?); if this is the case, you know I am here for you....... can't wait for the world to get back to normal; and we can get together for a meal, a beer, and a chat......again, Thank You very, very much; and yes, meeting good people and establishing friendships are all part of what makes the work worth while. You are definitely one of the good ones ...... hope to see you in the coming months....... Happy New Year!

it's a team effort........ Hawk had a realistic time frame, His ducks were in a row, and the money was always there...... Me? I work my *** off, never cut any corners, and am super **** (sometimes to a fault) I treat other peoples cars like they are my own...... that's what it takes

Well the end result shows to be sure. Your last comment is essentially what I am referring to; people who are "professionals" should take great pride in their work and work hard to be good at it which obviously you are. But, unfortunately this is not the norm these days.

lol, I added something to it as you were quoting...... probably the most important part

Distant redneck observation to add if I may:
They're both obviously good humans as well, of which I have been the grateful benefactor.

Yeah, it's easy to think such are rare critters these days - but I submit to you that they're out
there still. This ain't over yet!

Hawk's got me trippin down memory lane, I was paging through his build thread and came across this....... the first time he set eyes on that lime green paint in person.......lol, priceless

This is unfortunately true, and it seems especially so with paint and bodywork on these old cars. I can't tell you how many times people have talked about their cars being in "paint jail" and/or finding shoddy work later on. I took a leap of faith with Mark based on just a couple of recommendations, and I am glad I did.

I also agree it is a team effort. There are a lot of car owners who are not realistic about what it takes from both a time and money perspective to get a job done. They want a SEMA level paint job for a Maaco quickie price - not gonna happen!

Here is an under hood shot. The car is not intended to be 100% correct. There is partially hidden A/C, fuel injection, ECU controlled timing, higher amp alternator, etc. But the goal was to keep it generally era correct looking while also having the creature comforts to allow it to be comfortably and reliably driven across country. I have been very happy with it so far...
