Guys, my sb 727 tq con. appears to have a bad spot on the starter ring. If it lands there the starter just spins. I bump the engine over a bit and the starter will re engage. So, I have some other tq. conv.s from bb 727s that are also neutral balanced, will they exchange or are they made different inside or outside......all are OEM...thanks....

If they are still available, a new ring gear can be welded on the converter. I did several years ago. The converters will interchange but, stall speeds can vary.

Will interchange if diameters are the same. 10.75 and 11.75 each require a different flex plate. Of course there will be stall speed differences between the various stock converters. What is this going in?

Its in a 73 Challenger that I have had for years but just now getting it ready to be tagged. Currently has a 360 and non original 727. The converter appears to be one of highest stalls I have ever seen in what I think is a stock converter. Second time it has landed on the "no start" spot just moving it around shop and yard. Can t leave home with out a socket and ratchet with that tq converter still in.....
