Hey there,
I have a Harbor Freight stand up portable sandblaster that worked fine until the hose clogged up. I need a replacement. HF doesn't sell the hose by itself. I've seen listings online but the prices are all over the place.
The hose is a 1/2" ID. and is 10 feet long.
Where can I find a quality replacement?
 
For shipping, I’ll send you my spare I use. My HF gun failed after awhile and I replaced the gun which came in a kit with rubber hose and a metal tube. You want the hose? PM me.
 
You should be able to unclog the hose. Unless it's delamananting from the inside. My hose wore out at the bottom valve where it bends. I just cut that part off and clamped it back on.
I just looked on ebay. And found a 8 foot x 1/2" i.d. pressure hose from Eastwood for $21 and free shipping.

Skatblast sells decent stuff. I replaced the gun assembly in my HF blast cabinet after a month of fighting with what came in the unit. What a difference. It has been going strong for several years now....
 
Mine looks looks like clear vinyl hose. Couldn’t you get some from Lowe’s or HD off the bulk rolls? They have the clear hose with the reinforcement in it. I don’t think it’s a special hose.
 
Must be a hydraulic shop around should have different grades of hoses. Tractor dealerships should carry that sort of stuff by the reel. Industrial supply sort of stores. Good luck.
 
The key is to find one flexible enough for use but doesn’t kink. Also, I had to grind out metal on the inside of my hf gun to greatly increase flow (poor casting). Made a huge difference.

Glad to hear you've had decent luck with it. I'm flabberghasted but my family bought me the $1k version for Christmas!!..... It looks like a solid unit, but I need you guys who have these to give me a shout out regarding air compressors, as I have nothing here big enough to run that unit. Kern, anything else i should know about these would be appreciated... You had yours long?? BTW, most Napa's sell hydraulic hose, even in bigger sizes. I would think you can pick up something suitable on the fly if need be. TIA, Lefty71
 
When I bought my blast cabnet from TSC the hose was kind of short. Went to Lowes and bought a longer one, same hose that was on the cabnet. Found it in the plumbing section.

If it's clogged you should be able to unclog it. Moisture will cause this.

10' long ... seriously ?!?!?

I routinely "unclog" my hose whether it needs it or not. Just hold you hand over the nozzle and hit the trigger and it will blow out and debris in the hose.
 
This is my "home-made" gun - made from one of those cheapies. Its now smaller and lighter - operated by foot pedal. The key to good performance is a carbide tip.

My unit is run by a Cambell Hausfield 60 gal compressor and has enough oomph to run fine steel shot with no problems. The size of the compressor is not really an issue - they'll all run enough pressure. The issue is how long it can maintain the pressure. This is an old 5 HP single cylinder unit and it does a fine job. But, the bigger, the better !!

Its a low pressure hose so places like Advanced Auto would have something like heater hose that would work.
 
Its a "suction" hose - there's no pressure in it at all. The key is flexibility - you do not want this hose to kink.

I still question the 10'. This hose connects to the top of the pickup tube - it really doesn't need to be any longer than a couple feet.

It is. The hose itself attaches to the bottom of the tank and had a cheapie 1/4 turn valve at the end instead of a gun type handle with a trigger. I got this thing from a guy that just wanted to clear out his garage. It may have been cobbled together.
