Old school mopar guy schooled me last week. I have a 62 Dart, it's a b-body yet b-body wasn't yet a designation that existed.
Iirc b-body name started in 65.

Think Fury model went to C-body platform in 65, not sure if any Dodges did. So we have A, B, C, and E body...what happened to D? Given my hearing ability today, if someone says B or D, I usually have to ask is that B as in boy or D as in dog?

D was trucks 2 wheel drive as in D350. W is 4 wheel drive.

Wait a sec...now 'W'? What about F, G, H, I...lol - it's a shitty day here making me depressed, so pls pardon my lousy humor.

F is 76 to 80 Aspen and Volare' that took place of the A body line.
After that I'm lost. They did do J and M in the 80's too.One of them took place of the C body.
G and K is the front wheel drive cars as best as I remember.

I have a Mexican Spec 1963 Plymouth Savoy. I bought it in horrible condition and did what I could to make it nicer.

My motto is Not Good But Better.

This is a Savoy VIN 213.

You will notice the Fury side trim and the emblem on the sail panel. This is how they came from the Mexican factory. These cars all had slant 6 engines as Ford was the only manufacturer allowed to use V8 engines in their cars.

Also, the dreaded tapered axle was a bit different on the Mexican Spec cars.

The drum comes off from the axle making it much easier to service the brakes. Too bad the American cars didn't do this.

More Door Savoy - Daily Driver, Grocery Getter

And, the Sport Fury - Super Stock in hiding.

I got it covered on both ends.

And it has been alleged that the birth of the muscle car began with the '64 GTO? Ahh don't think so...
64 goat is generally accepted, but i can make a case forseveral others, including the 38 buick century, and the 57 rambler rebel. (My definition: biggest , most powerful factory engine in a smaller or lighter body, from the manufacturer)

LOL for sure especially when I'm looking at a old drag news article from Dec 8th & 9th 1962 about my other 63 ply running 12.46 /118.76 on the 8th & then 12.68 / 112.93 on the 9th which the car was only about 3 weeks old so I'm sure there wasn't many mods done yet.

My departed elder cousin bought a '64 Polara new 426/4sp (comical story behind this I've posted about before). I have a copy of one of his time slips...12:76. He ran it at some tri-state area tracks (IL, WI, IN) getting I don't recall how many trophies he had plopped on his shelves.

Does this count as a half-a-barn find? This is not my car. It's at a classic car wrecking yard about a half an hour from where I live. It looks like it was on the road quite recently. The owner of the yard doesn't crush, so it's safe. I figured might as well share it.
