Had to say goodbye to my best buddy ever today

Tough gig, my condolences. I've had to put down a couple great dogs. It's never easy as they are part of your family! Pit bulls are some of the sweetest, loyal, and protective dogs you can have. 440'

Sorry for your loss. Your loss has brought a tear to my eye. R.I.P charger

I feel your pain......it's the worst...... looks like Charger had a great life

There is nothing IMO than difficult dealing with the loss of a furry loved one.

Sorry for your loss. Why can't pets live longer than they do? There's always a special place in your heart no matter how many we lose.

RIP Charger

Sorry for your loss. I know the pain you are in. The years we get with our pets are too short.

I was not in the mood for another dog after being a dog owner for more than 30 years . I informed my wife that I wanted to be free from having always make the time for a dog . After a year or so , I relented and picked out this one from a shelter .
We were not prepared for how much having a Staffordshire Terrier would affect us . Hands down the best dog we could have ever hoped for . We fell in love with her on day one . Can not imagine life without a

Oh man, so sorry to hear this. It is always a great loss!

Sorry for your loss, thanks for sharing your story I know he will be missed. My buddy Spot ( Dalmatian) passed away I thought I would give him the best burial on my property, dug his grave wrapped him in his favorite blanket dropped his favorite tennis ball in and lost it, I could not throw the dirt on him, yes I’m teared up as I’m writing this, I called my best friend and told him my problem and he came over and done what I could not do. Maybe Spot and Charger are playing ball together. RIP Charger.

Sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to be forced to do that. Prayers to you and the family.

I agree and though it is hard I also think letting go is a way of showing how much you truly love your pet.... To often I've seen people who keep their dog alive much longer than is fair... When you keep the pet alive for yourself & don't consider the suffering of the animal your being selfish.. As much as it hurts (Believe me I know all to well) you should really think of what is best for your friend...

So sorry to hear this. I love my dogs as they are family and they make everyday for me happier. I lost my sweet Yellow Lab 2 years ago this month and it was one of the hardest days of my life. It tore my heart out as she was 12-1/2 years old and her hips gave out. I broke down at the vets but could not help it because I was so attached to her and loved her so much. Take care and sorry for your loss. Ron

Worst feeling in the world. Very sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family sir! They’re pets but they’re just like children. The saying goes, a dog is the only thing in the world, that loves you more than it loves itself! Ain’t that the truth!

It is, I had my dog for almost 20 yrs he too was my best friend, I had to have him put down but that was down in the back room, it was hard receiving him back afterwards, like I let him down.I did not want any other pets after that.
Fast forward a few yrs ago my wife and I adopted an older hairless Chihuahua, she was mainly my wife's dog, but I was a close second. She had some genetic defects that affected her liver and though she wasn't terribly old we ended up having to put her down. I was holding her in my arms why they put the solution in her IV and feeling her stop breathing and go limp was the hardest thing I have ever experienced... I'm tearing up thinking about it now....
I know it was the right thing to do in both instances but like B70 said they are our "kids"... they want nothing from us but our attention and love.

I've been there with a few of my friends.... It tears me up, but I know it was time & it had to be done... Honestly I feel guilty for when I was younger & choose not to be there with my friend... That was selfish & cruel... I really wish I would have done the right thing... I learned from my mistake & I hope Zud Buddy forgives me..

Sorry to hear, the box idea is nice. We have Bones in one, my daughter pulls him out and reads books with him from time to time, or snuggles up with Titan(still alive) and Bones to watch a movie.
Be well

I knew the end was near and was debating on getting a puppy or a older dog to help matters mosty for my wife and kid well the kid hadn't noticed yet. And the wife said she wants some time .
I agree with it hurts but the same time I see it as I have room to bring another dog in my life and make there's better
My wife really wants a french bulldog pup I looked but I'm seeing pups at $5000-$8000
Wish I could do it for her but when the person selling dog says we finance I couldn't help but laugh at them!
If baby doesn't notice then we will give it time

Thanks guys for your kind words and support
