Blower motor shorting out?

Ok guys got an issue that I think I know the problem but not sure. 68 Super Bee rebuilt the heater box and before I installed it I checked the blower and it worked. Now that it’s installed I have power and even see it changing as I move the fan speed lever but now blower. And when I hook the green wire up that is the power to the blower it’s sparks like it’s grounded out somewhere. I can reach almost to the motor and don’t feel it pinched anywhere. And it is grounded I have pics of it before I installed it. If I hook power straight from the battery to the green wire I get nothing as well.

And it sparked with the key in the off position, or what? If so you have other issues to deal with.
And it is grounded I have pics of it before I installed it. If I hook power straight from the battery to the green wire I get nothing as well.
If it's grounded correctly after replacement, you wouldn't get sparks when attaching power wire. As for direct wiring to batt, I'd say you blew a fuse if you've got nothing or you've totally fried your blower resistor as well. Good Luck
 
I have power from the switch to the resistor. When I hook my test light to the resistor I can see it getting brighter as I move the fan speed switch to high, and dimming as I move the switch to low. All seems right there. When the key is on it sparks when I hook the single green wire to the resistor prong. No sparks when key is off. The resistor doesn’t look burnt on the back or anything.
 
If the fan was pressed on too far the motor won't be able to spin. If you have power on and try to connect to the resistor you should expect a spark - this happens to all sorts of things when you're completing a circuit. Its like jumper wire sparking when you try to boost another battery. My money is on the fan being pressed on too far.

Like Stan said ^^^.. if you're not blowing the fuse it's not shorted out. Put it on high, plug it in and give the box a hit and see if it spools up..

Pulled the front cover and spun the fan with my hand and it seemed to tight. No adjustment made a difference so I ended up pulling the heater box. Separated the motor from the fan and couldn’t turn the shaft with my hand. Took the motor off the cover and loosened the two nuts that hold the motor case together and the shaft freed up. Tested it and it worked great. I don’t remember messing with those before but I guess I must have for some reason and when I put it back together ended up somehow binding the shaft idk. But it works great now, it’s back in the car and everything works great. Now to figure this headlight issue out! Thanks guys!
 
Funny how things work like that.
