What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Making chicken enchiladas & wearing out my thumbs diddling on this site.

Waiting on couriers that see a snow flake and turn their trucks around and go back to the depot. Seems only Fedex knows how to drive in Canada. No show by Purolator, UPS and now today Canpar this week. No parts.. equals Wayne no worky...

Went into the shop this morning to blast my Dart's sway bar and remembered the Wife's rusty butterfly from camp, that I was supposed to blast over the past 2 years. Every time she sees a butterfly she thinks it's our Daughter Jennifer checking in on her, so thought maybe I should bump that to the top of the tad doo list for our social distanced gift exchange tonight with our other two kids. Will give the Wife something to keep her mind busy as we go back into full lock down again on Boxing day, so I'd better find her some paint to go with the "gift" ! LOL

It’s my wife’s birthday, so we did pretty whatever she asked to do. Which was mostly relax, and get sushi and Chinese.

I tried to be artsy and take cool pics of my friends T/A.

I checked out this rough 71 Challenger. 318 car. No fender tag but from things I could tell it was FY1 with H5XX houndstooth interior and air conditioning. Nothing else notable.

That sucks. Grew up in Massachewhole until I was 12 then got into the snow again in my early 20's while in Germany in the military. Had some fun with a 4 man toboggan one winter but then my room mate rolled our car on some black ice. I dunno....don't think I'd do too good in the snow at 70 years old lol.....well, getting close to the top of the ladder on that one.

Isn't 2nd shift days? Was when I worked at a steel mill....

Yeah, you know?
I met a guy once that told me:
First shift is 12 midnight to 6 AM?
second shift is days
3rd shift is nights
But I have always seen:
First is like 6 or 7 or 8 (9-5 gang) to 4:40PM
second is afternoons to 11 PM or so
3rd shift is midnight to 6 or so AM
So, I'm confused

Yup same here at the mill ,Ford and the rest 1st shift midnight 2nd shift days and 3rd shift afternoons ,been on crews 6pm till 6am

In the mill I worked in 7am to 3pm 1st shift 2nd 3 to 11 and 3rd 11 pm to 7 am. Also CSW ( Continuous Scheduled Work) two shifts 4 days on 4 days off. 1st 7am to 7pm and nights 7pm to 7am. Holidays no one worked or if they did triple time for 8 hrs double time after that. Work an off day time and a half double if a Sunday. Worked that schedule for years.

Don't know what it was at the Chrysler engine plant, but at BENDIX where I worked, 2nd shift was 3:30 pm to midnight. Day shift was 7 am to 3:30 pm. (3rd shift was midnight to 7 am.) Worked in both Automotive and Aerospace divisions, plus Guidance Systems division (the missile stuff), shifts were the same in all divisions.
