Windshield molding 68 coronet

For the install of this trim around the windshield the students and I are stumped. Cannot figure this out. It will not snap into place. Are we missing the trick to it?

Have the correct clips in? Mine went on with no problems

Are you putting the molding between the body and the clip? It won’t work if you’re putting the molding between the rubber gasket and the clip. I’m sure you already know this, but just asking. Your car looks the same color I painted mine. Is yours Bronze metallic?
Another thought. Sometimes you have to pound on the molding with a rubber mallet to get it down.

turbine bronze I was told. I've been told my clips are too short... man I didn't want to do a windshield twice. Wish I knew that before we put this in! lol

There was no turbine Bronze for a 1968 B body. That color in 1968 was called bronze metallic. Paint code MM1.

You might try prying the clips away from the body a little bit. That's what I had to do on my Duster. Also I use foamy glass cleaner as a lubricant on just about everything I have to snap together.
