I have a "new" Gen2 hemi in my 66 Hemi Coronet W023 clone. World block, Edelbrock heads and intake and carb. 10.3:1 and dynoed at 488 at 5450. Engine probably has <1000 miles on it when I bought the car, <1500 now. First oil change on my watch. Oil recommendations? Old standard 10W-40, or one of the new 0W-20 synthetics?

Somewhere in the 10w-40 range that has a good amount of zinc in it, like the racing oil.

Im with kramer , a good mineral 10 /40 weight with zinc, brad penn , lucas , summit , ect

Plus a call to the engine builder to confirm your choice.

I run Valvoline ZR1 20w50 in mine.

I use 10-40 Lucas Hot Rod oil in my 472. I don't run it hard,if I did then 20-50 is what allot of builders recommend.
