Can 66 Sat top of fender trim split be aluminum welded?

I’ve seen that demonstrated at gun shows too - although it’s been awhile. I might try to track it down and try it on a piece of scrap aluminum trim I have.
After doing a little research it appears these low temp aluminum repair rods have a high zinc content and probably would not take well to re-anodizing where exposed. Decided to not go down that path for right now.

Dang - looking at the other side and it’s split right at the turn signal light too - just like the other side . The splits are so tight you can feel them more than see them. I may just carefully remove them and apply JB Weld to the back side to hold the tightly together.
Should check if there's a why they split. A little fiberglass to reinforce the JB?
Have your turn signal indicators been rechromed and are now to thick?
I don't think so but not 100% sure. I think more likely the aluminum trim may have been stripped and polished or re-anodized and was thinned out from sanding/polishing. Maybe? This is the driver side but pass side is virtually the same.

I would appreciate your asking. I have a bunch of various trim up in the attic left over from my 67 GTX scrounging junkyards days. Probably a lot of other owners do to.

I just put a call into him to see if he has anything. When he did my car he used all NOS except for the pass side door. that one he had to use a REALLY nice used due to unable to find an nos one
Should here back next day or 2
