I bought this nice 383 automatic road runner back in 1996 for $2,750 from a guy in San Diego. It was a numbers matching car with only 63,000 on it. He used it as a daily driver, it was well cared for and had never been wrecked. I cleaned it up, put on new brakes, tires, changed all the fluids, electronic ignition and tune up.
It ran great. I used it on weekends to drive it back and forth from Oceanside to San Diego to the Mopar Club gatherings. I sold it about a year later when I bought another road runner with 4 speed and air grabber hood.

Wishing I still had this one right now. It was in really good condition, ran great and didn't have any problems at all. A very nice driver! VIN RM21N0E123121
I guess it's like the old song goes "You never know what you've got till its gone"

But it sounds like it turned into an air grabber 4 speed instead - that sounds like a nice upgrade to me!

The original color was lemon twist but at some point someone had painted it red, then at a later time it was painted back to yellow again but the paint job was very poor quality. It needed to be completely stripped and repainted. Unfortunately it was a very basic car, almost no options. So I suspect most people would not want to put a lot of money into it. But it was a really nice driver and a solid reliable transportation vehicle. Funny thing, it has much more appeal to me now than it did back then. I wish I could have kept all 4 of my road runners.
