Has anyone tried to install a modern HVAC unit in a 71 roadrunner? Since I haven't found one made for 71 I figured I would ask the adventurous on here.

Mine does.

The Classic Auto Air kit has many options whether you have factory A/C or not.

I think the Charger dash is the same. I used Vintage Air in mine with the factory vents on tha passenger side and an aftermarket on the drivers side. Unless you know what you're looking at you would not know it.

If I remember correctly, I dealt with https://nostalgicac.com/ in Florida (its been 15+ yrs). My wagon already has (had) AC, I just wanted to update from the firewall forward. I bought the kit, but never got a chance to install it as I had a family emergency come up and I flipped it for what I paid. The only issue I remember having with the kit were the lines to the condenser. Stock, the lines ran over the core support. Their kit wanted the lines run thru the support. Being mostly stock under hood, the charcoal canister and overflow tank were in the way. I'm sure a local shop could make the needed lines, just gotta figure the added expense.
