Finally Bought My Dream Car. 1969 Roadrunner Project

So sorry to hear about the fire. Even with insurance and thank God you had it), it is a major hassle to replace stuff, move stuff, repairs, etc. Sounds like everyone was OK, so that's what really matters.

...sending you some good vibes to hope things go well...

Got my Gen3 Hemi today . Pulled it out and took the heads off (doing newer head swap) 80$ short block

Well the car sat in storage for almost 2 years. Got it back in the garage a month or so and back at it. Put the gen3 on the back burner and picked up this 440 with the whole 4 speed setup for super cheap off a buddy. Doing the frame connectors right now as well. Can’t believe I’ve had this car for this long and still haven’t driven it lol this car has survived multiple girlfriends, a house fire, and so much more. An adventure of sorts hahaha

Having just read this thread, you have been through a hellava lot of trouble with this car. Looks like it is definitely a keeper. Keep up the great work - you have already been doing a sterling job.

Wow. It’s amazing how life does that. Good job on hanging in there. I love the 440/4 speed idea.

Just caught up on your thread. Good work. Glad to see your're back

Thanks it’s been a rough ride. But I imagine that first drive will make it all worth it. The car probably had more in storage bills then the whole car so far but was happy it had a nice place to rest for awhile. After getting these frame connectors all welded in I’m going to have my buddy help me out with the rear suspension and dana60 install. Will be nice to finally see it sitting the way it’s supposed to. Long as there’s no more pesky life troubles that is hahaha!

While the car was in storage I even had my first kid. Here’s Orion.. He’ll be the one to inherit the car after I’m long gone (hopefully I finish it before then lol!) Time flys!

Sounds to me like you have your priorities exactly right: family first, but still don't forget about the car and make progress when you can.

just found this thread, hell of a journey, thats what will make this feel so right when you are driving it someday, good luck young man.

First time the Rearend and Wheels have been under the car at the same time. The Rearend wasn’t the size I wanted after I had originally bought it years ago. So a few years back I did a lot of math and had it re done. Glad to finally see my work came out tits.

I think it took me around 4 years to find my front runners. Oddly enough I found them on a B Body Facebook page. I posted a request and people came out the woodworks trying to sell them. Check there!
