Based on the flexing characteristics of my 64 polara Body, I'm considering welding "subframe" connectors between the front and rear rails. Does anyone have experience with similar body structure stiffening actions?

My 65 has 2”X2” 1/8” wall square tubing connecting front to back frames. Seems to work pretty well. It would be even better to tie the floor into it.

I bought a set from Mancini's in Detroit for my 4-door hardtop to stiffen it up. They are contoured to fit the floor pan. They weld to the floor and front and rear crossmembers. About $200 for the pair.

Yes, sounds good. Connector Parts I've looked at have similar section properties. I'll try tieing ( intermittently) into floor pan or , if feasible , the sill.
Thanks

Thanks, ill check them out.

I tied the floor in on my 65. See the rectangles next to the front/rear floor pan junction. I also made front torque boxes and added USCT radiator support and inner fender stiffeners.
