64 Sport Fury Armrest bases chrome or ?

We are re-doing the interior on a black interior 1964 sport fury. The armrest bases in the car are black. Legendary interiors say they should be chrome. Are 64 sport fury bases supposed to be chrome? Thanks
 
Yes, chrome. I know as I owned one back in the 60s. Chrome started to wear off after a few years leaving gray plastic underneath.
 
My original 64 Fury arm rest bases are chrome. Or were. The chrome was wearing off and deteriorating to where the plastic showed. I sprayed them with chrome spray paint. I know its not "correct" enough to be show worthy, but I just drive my car to enjoy it, and that rattle can job improved the appearance.
 
When I got my 64 all the bases had been painted silver. I have started to replace them with the chrome ones which are correct....
