That long ago all ready. If Im not mistakin , I watched that on the Nasa Channel back at that time.

That was a Sad day for sure.

I remember watching that live during class in high school.
Was a sad day for sure

I remember watching Columbia launch for the first time.
Challenger too.
God Bless them all!

that was horrid, really sad day
I remember I was on a job site
(I'm sure many remember exactly where they were)
in Hayward building 2 duplexes at the time,
installing the windows & doors, when I heard the sad news

may they RIP

I was a youngster in grade school home sick, laying in the couch watching the launch on dad and moms old Zenith tv... it was a sad event, I recall going back to school a few days later and the teachers were sharing with us what happened... May that crew Rest In Peace - Real space hero’s are hard to find ..And that they will remain, hero’s!

i was a freshman in high school. Sister Domnics geometry class. She rolled in a tv and let us watch the reports

I was driving to vo tech welding class listening to the launch on the radio in my mom's 81 bonniville

Never will forget that day. The first work program I was on was space shuttle. Worked the rudder control/landing air brake system.

I watched it in high school also. Me and a buddy just looked at each other. It home for us cause Resnick was from Akron like us.

I remember the jokes that were going around the very next day

I was working in the Parts Dept. of the local Lincoln Mercury dealership, and listening to the radio. Had trouble believing that what I was hearing was true. And for a short time, had some hope that the crew survived and splashed into the water. But.......

And it all came back that a darn O-Ring failed and caused the explosion. So much for using the "lowest bidder" on a project.

I was home from work sick with the flu so I was watching it on TV. It was a big deal up here in NH since Christa McAuliffe "the first teacher in space" was from NH.
The O ring failed because the temps were so cold the night before that the O rings were frozen so they did not seat properly. According to protocol the mission should have been postponed but the upper management bigshots decided it was worth the risk....

One of many days that are burned into my memory...

7th grade, watching back to The future in class and heard the news. We were able to turn on the news and watch. My sixth grade teacher applied to be the teacher to go.
