I see your radiator Are your batteries and power electronics mounted on a cold plate that has coolant circulating through it? Does the electric motor require liquid cooling?

Looks like you're doing a clean job of routing all those cables, nice work.

Thanks!

Yep, the radiator is partitioned...One side is for the motor/inverter, and the other is for the batteries/charger. A pump for each system, the battery loop has a heater and a valve to bypass the radiator when cold.

A friend checked replacement batteries for Tesla. Small pack about $7,000 and large pack about $15,000. Ouch. Battery life is guaranteed 8 to 10 years.

I watched all of your YouTube videos. Impressive to say the least. I love the “burn in hell” comment in one of your videos. I’m sure you get lots of negative comments from the Mopar community.
The design and fabrication aspects of this build are first rate. I can appreciate that part of it for sure. I also liked the incorporation of the PDM into the wiring design.
I’ll subscribe to the channel as I’m looking forward to seeing this hit the streets!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I really like this project. I am a big fan of electric cars and this seems like a really cool blending of the new with the classic. Looking at the pictures, I am impressed with the workmanship, both mechanical and in the wiring. I will definitely be following this. Cheers!

Thanks, can't wait to make videos of it driving! I have to say, although there is resistance and negativity, it is much less than I expected. I think everyone's change anxiety is getting better.

Thanks for the kind words, keeps me motivated!

Very interesting. Not the usual type of mod. I like it! My hat's off to you!!! Keep up the great work.

Without looking back over all the posts I can't be sure if I mentioned this before, but THIS IS MY FAVORITE BUILD ON FBBO!! I LOVE the '71 - '74 B-Coupes. I do electronics for a living. I am intrigued with the concept of electric cars (and know a little about them). Dude, I live for your posts!!

Very cool build! I like the color too. I’m watching your videos now. Did you say 1000 lb/ft of torque??!!

When I watched Batman I always liked the turbine sound that never changed after it was running. Cool sound effects!

Very kind words, I love the 71 to 74 also. I could not see putting this much time money and effort into a vehicle I didn't love.

Thanks, yeah still to be determined. Model S Dyno results with the same voltage and amperage have hit high 900s.

I'm wondering what kind of sound it will have? Maybe just the gears whirring up to 16,000 rpm.

Dash build, using the original Satellite dash. I made a new trim panel to keep the HVAC controls, but changed the radio into Rocker switches for controlling the Tesla Drive unit. I used two 8" android tablets for the gauge panel/map/stereo. The left tablet connects to Bluetooth dongle in the OBD II port to get all of the data from the battery management system. The Right tablet has 4G for map and music, it connects the the Bluetooth rocker switch sized stereo. It will also WIFI to the tesla drive unit for adjustments. The tablets charge wirelessly when the car is charging or the ignition is on. They can snap out of the dash and become portable.

Battery modules have been parallel balanced and BMS cell tap boards installed. Front lower box has six modules wired in series, parallel coolant system plumbed, and installed on the K-member.

I like it. We have been kicking around doing an electric Model A pickup for running errands locally in our little valley.

Rear battery box build and fit into trunk. Six modules wired in series with parallel cooling system. The battery management system is wired to each module/cell. This box has the most negative module that will then connect to the front boxes in series before returning to the main bus bar and contactor box.
