Any good or bad experiences. Thinking about trying this on portions of side moldings. Car will be a garage queen and will not go though any automated car washes.

Nothing bad here. 3M double side is pretty much how emblems and molding have been attached to new cars for well over a decade or two. Just make sure you get the right tape.

I've used it on the Road Runner script on the deck lid and the Pentastar on the RF fender. Works great. Highly recommended.

It's nice to use it under all of the emblems especially the ones that require a hole in the panel
so the tape seals off the hole so water does not get into the panel. You should still use the nuts
behind the emblem, but the tape helps alot!

When possible you should use the original style molding , trim retain clips but like posted above, the 3m tape is in wide use today on late model cars and trucks.
It will hold your emblems , trim , moldings, ect. Both the car panel and the molding have to be prepped with a good grease and wax remover.
Some moldings will have a recess on the back side and may need 2 layers of tape.

The moldings at the top of my doors take an odd clip that is almost impossible to remove without breaking it. The car takes a total of 18 clips. After harvesting the clips from two sets of doors, I only had half of what I needed. I spaced the clips to every other hole, and stuck the trim down with that "Alien Tape" you see advertised on TV (my wife had a couple of rolls of it). We have used it on other applications and it really sticks.

I had ZERO luck in finding barrel clips for the R/W/B chevrons on my baby, so went with the 3M tape and so far, so good. Has anyone tried Gorilla's two sided tape?
