Restoration (Nut & Bolt) getting to know your nuts! If you received your car as a basket case and have not a clue where all these fasteners were meant to belong, you are just like me? I am fortunate enough to have a B Body Mopar Guru to enlighten me on the location of every fastener! I bought a tumbler but have since decided that chemical cleanining is a much more efficient option. I ended up with what I would call mystery bolts, nuts, and fasteners. No surprise, as car and donor car was ,no prestine barn find! As earlier stated find a fastener guru and have him/her confirm if you can’t buy new? Or, quiz FBBO as we ALL have the same goal!✌️

I bought this huge, expensive book that shows and describes literally EVERY nut, bolt and screw that goes on a B body. We discussed it on the site here a few months ago. Worth every penny. I have the one for ‘68 to ‘70 but it here may be others.

You gotta a linky to this magic book thread?

I have the book and it is worth every penny......very detailed information

I got those books too... it turns you nuts after using for awhile! You begin to argue with repop companies on your missing trans crossmember bolts lol! Then you decide to go get used and clean them up and refinish them because you want it right... then comes the finish part... black oxide or parkerized... but they are a wealth of info!

That's spendy but I just might get it. I told the body shop I wanted all the visible nuts and bolts to look original but I get it back and they assembled it with brand new hardware all over. The engine compartment looks hideous! I did get the original hardware back bagged up...

On Graveyard Carz Worman used to do a segment called “Getting Wise” (last name of the author). He’d pick a different fastener from this book and go over it. He uses this book all the time on the show.

One thing that I was amazed to learn is that there is not one hardware store fastener anywhere on a car. Hardware store fasteners can and will work on certain applications, but literally every fastener on our cars is purpose built.

I just bought the 71-74 version $205, shipped to Ontario. Glad I bought it but noticed quite a few errors when comparing 71/72 stuff to 73/74, would still buy it again.

Charger72, how long was the shipping to Canada? I was going to order one in December but thing were taking forever to get here. Parcels are moving a bit quicker this month.

You guys talked me into purchasing one since I have 3 Bodies, with more B's to follow I am sure.

The mail must be moving much quicker now, my hydraulic clutch set up arrived in less then a week to the arctic.
