Punxatawney Phil.....
As a kid, I thought this was a cute story. Sometime in my 20s, it occurred to me that no matter what this fat rodent sees or does NOT see, this event happens on February 2nd.....exactly in between the Start and the end of Winter. There will be six weeks until the first day of Spring regardless.....

More doom and gloom oh I mean more winter ...lol I’ve been watching the news this morning.. I do agree with you either way 6 more weeks. I need sunshine and car shows , burnt rubber in the air and burnt racing fuel smell..

It's still humorous. But I'm in Minnesota. Six weeks would be a miracle. But I guess if you consider "ice out" spring, OK.

He is saying, "Hey! Let me sleep! How about I come to your house in the middle of the night, grab you out of bed and hold you up for all to see with all the TV lights shining? With all those lights how can I not see my shadow? Lets see how you like it!"

Well after the last 2 days here in Pa I'm hoping Ol' Phil is dead wrong...

This darn global warming is something, isn't it. TOP priority for Joe & company. The sky is falling!!!

When I lived in the northeast I used to hate Punxy Phil. When he saw his shadow he'd be right about 6 more weeks of winter. When he didn't see his shadow we got 6 more weeks of winter 80% of the time.
Moved to Scottsdale 33 years ago. 9 months of summer and 3 months of fall/spring. Phuck Phil and his shadow.

Here in Wisconsin, it really don't make much difference. We always get 6 months of winter and 6 months of bad sledding.

Six more weeks of winter.

We had this classic Groundhog Day moment in Sun Prairie in 2015.

i think the rodent would look up see the snow feel the cold and say f this i'm going back to bed

Hasn’t the weather been fluxuating for centuries? How did the Oklahoma dust bowl ever happen? All the CO2 from the cars polluting in the 1930’s?

6 more weeks of winter
been saying that for a while

it's an odd year so we get it here, anyway
no matter what that rodent "Phil" says or does

As America sheds its longheld cultural rituals one by one, we've somehow managed to retain the one with men in top hats anxiously awaiting the appearance of a rodent who predicts the future.

Still laughing my azz off at Phuck Phil @Ray70Chrg :luvplace: ... I despise winter too.
