What Are You Guys Doing To Prevent Your Cars To Get Stolen?

Thinking About A Kill Switch
( Any Ideas ) Or Maybe A Fuel Cut Off

Remove rotor, or pull off the yellow wire on the starter relay. I'm sure there's lots more simple free tricks others will suggest.

Garaged, alarm system, dog and a gun collection....and 2 backhoes..

Nothing stops a quick tilt and load operator, not even a fence!

I used to take the coil wire with me or hide it in the trunk.

They can't hot wire it and drive it away but if they want it bad enough they will take it not running. (tow truck, roll back, dolly, trailer) Hell I have seen reports about people stealing trailer and all.

Install a manual transmission!
Actually, there isnt much you can do to stop a determined thief.
If you need to do something under the hood when you park a good thief will be watching and see you do it every time you park. They will know they need took under the hood to start it.
A disable switch inside would be better.

AAAAAHHHH...Well maybe keep it in the garage? You do have one right??? I would think with our cars we would want to have them secured and out of sight. But then maybe not...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

A hydraulic brake lock plumbed in to all four operated by a key on the valve.. removable steering wheel?

1. High enough resolution cameras so you can read a plate#
2. Hidden cameras so they don't stick out like a sore thumb.
3. DVR to record video for review later.
4. alarm in your bedroom that will go off if the garage door is opened. (just loud enough to wake you up)
5. Bright LED lights around the garage and back of the house.
6. Firearm, preferably .45 Cal., High capacity Mag's,
7. DON"T SHOOT THE CAR!

I used a dual fuel tank valve from a pickup truck. I had an alarm with an aux output, and when properly disarmed, it would set the valve to the gas tank. Otherwise, the car would run until the fuel in the carb ran out. It also had an ignition defeat, but a hot wire to the coil would solve that. My 68 Charger has the Proflow 4 system, so not so easy to hotwire. Still, a trailer or tow truck gets around all that. I'm looking into Revelco, they claim not one car has been stolen using their system. I'm also considering a Lojak or something similar. They have one that does not emit a signal until activated, hopefully preventing the thieves from blocking it. One guy hot wired a cell phone and charger into his lighter and hid it under the dash. Not sure if he ever needed to use the phone locator feature or not.
I know a guy with a 67 442 like mine had his stolen from his locked garage. They hooked onto the door and yanked it off, dragged the car onto a trailer and were gone in three minutes.

Hope and pray!! Have you seen how they get an ATM out of a store if they want it bad enough.

I keep track of it, keep it in a secured garage. And I never take it or leave it anywhere where there will be the possibility of it getting stolen. I also keep my eye on it!
What are you foolishly doing wrong that you feel the need to do anything further to prevent theft??

Sorry but if you can't park it & walk away at times then you aren't really able to drive the car.... If I go to LA or Las Vegas or Reno... Or anywhere else I don't have a garage available & I'm not gonna sleep in my car to protect it....

I have insurance, I have a vehicle tracking system & I accept that I can't control everything...

Time delay to ground coil with a latching bypass relay
Car will start and run 10 seconds and quit even if hot wired
will only slow them down

I try to park it in as safe a place as possible, preferably with it in my sight at all times. But that is not always possible. When it is not, my peace of mind protection is a LoJack
