parking break pedal

this is a common thing when these get old, how do you fix these parking break pedals when the nylon retainer wares out.

Are you referring to the anti rattle sleeve on the release rod? If so the hole could be enlarged enough to install a grommet which would perform the same function.

I have sleeves that fit pretty damn good !! I post pics later.
 
I used a zip tie for years to prevent the spring from going thru the hole. Don't make it tight on the rod, just loose enough for the rod to move.
 
Installation requires taking the handle off the shaft.
 
I used one of these between the spring and the handle bracket. Not OEM but it works great and is easy to install without removing the handle. I bought mine at Ace Hardware for around $5.
