I'm in need of another set of headers for my 383. I have 2 sets of TTI already and they're great, but aren't cheap. I was on dougs website and saw their specs are pretty much identical to TTI's but less than half the price..just curious how the fitment is on these, any clearance issues? Easy starter access?

The Dougs on my 66 493 fit very well and are quality pieces. 2" primaries too.

You'll need the 451 headers for the 383. 1-3/4" primaries.

The 452 is for the RB 413, 426, 440. They're a tad taller.

I bought the Dougs with the black paint and they still look good. Nice fitment, no hammering dents for clearance. Quality product.

When using them or any header on 452 heads you'll need to bevel the flange to fit the small ridge at the top of the head where it's bolted.

More than likely you'll need the mini (Dodge Dakota) starter.

The 451 is what I was looking at. I'm already running a mini starter. Thanks for the info!

I asked the same question for my ‘71 b body. I put in dougs d452 headers and everything fit near perfect. No dents or any bashing needed. I was extremely happy with their ceramic coating too.

I put Dougs D452's on my 66 with a 440 stroker and had to dent one tube on the passengers side to clear the torsion bar. Other than that no fitment problems. I was even able to pull the passenger side header in and out of the vehicle without loosening motor mounts.

I have a set of Doug’s Headers D452 for my 440 66 Belvedere …having difficulty getting the mini starter to fit…anyone else have an issue? Comments welcome…..thanks
