I feel stupid asking this but I started to do a tune up on my 1968 Satellite the other day and at first glance I couldn't see how the distributor cap is held on. I got interrupted and haven't gotten back to it. In looking at the new and the old caps they have slots on the sides for spring clips, but there are no clips holding the old one on. It snowed last night so I'm going to wait until the snow melts before I go look at her again. I'm just wondering what I'm missing?

I don't know any history of the car. I assume it has the original 318.

The original would have two clips that fold up onto the sides of the cap.
Newer magnum engines have two tabs with screws.
If neither then it is likely not a Mopar original distributor.

See the clip. One on each side.

Yep that was it, that sucker was ON there! First I tried hitting it with a rubber mallet to no avail. So I took a 2x4 and a sledge hammer and that did the trick.

That is a proper application of BFSI.... (Brute Force and Sheer Ignorance) (Something I'm highly qualified for)

I have nos ($20) and used clips ($5) if needed.

For that price, better get a full distributor and remove those clips.

Yeah, I was lookin for something at lower cost, just couldn't find any. Besides, it's not my job to go looking for other peoples parts online when they could easily do it themselves!
