Hello everybody,
I just registered to the forum and I would like to introduce myself
I'm Olivier, 46 yo, married with 2 kids (12 and 10 yo) Mopar fan since a few decades, living near Nantes on the west coast of France. That's about me.
About cars now. I've always been passionate about cars, and especially muscle cars since I fell in love with the Duke's mount and lieutenant Bullitt's green machine, like many
About twenty years ago, I discovered a french club, The Mopar Owners Club and began to follow the discussions on their forum.
In summer 2002, having made some contacts, I went to the Mopar Euronat's at Santa Pod, GB, with some members
What a shock ...
That was when the passion really began and when I started dreaming of possessing my own Mopar
But life is not only made of dreams, and I had to put it aside as it's not a priority when you start your life as a family, to the point that I had almost resigned myself
Finally, two years ago, I made my dream come true when I found a 1971 Satellite Sebring Plus, disguised as a Roadrunner. It runs a 318 SB with a 4bbl carb. The camshaft has also been improved with a Lunati Voodoo.
Not a perfect car, roughly restored (badly) before crossing the ocean in 2016, but in good condition overall
During these past two years, I made some cosmetics improvements by restoring the front grilles, emblems, and last spring, I completely removed the interior for a good cleaning and discovered that the floor pans were a bit rusty and punctured in many places
So an ex-auto body mechanic fixed all this and now the interior is like new
Unfortunately, my dream has been stopped last sunday, not for too long I hope, because I crashed it under a rainy weather and aquaplaning, resulting in a crushed front end
Luckily, no one was hurt, except my self-esteem badly damaged for a long time ...
I'm looking for parts to rebuild it, waiting for the insurance company to tell how much they evaluate the cost of repairs, hoping it doesn't exceed the value of the car...
I'll post some pics of the "before" condition soon
Thanks for reading me this far
EDIT: I forgot to add that I also have a 2012 Dodge RAM 1500 Quad cab, and before that I owned a Chrysler 300C Touring (equivalent to the Dodge Magnum under your skies), my first (almost) Mopar owned
